The name of the group will be the Mondriaan Residents’ and Owners’ Association.
- To encourage community participation in the area
- To represent the environmental, housing and housing-related issues of the residents and owners of the Mondriaan Development
- To organise events for the benefit of the community
Area of Operation
The area of operation will be the Mondriaan Development consisting of Shuna Street and Shuna Crescent, Glasgow G20.
Membership shall be open, irrespective of nationality, race, colour, political or religious beliefs to all residents and owners of the Mondriaan who are 16 years old or over.
Members shall at all times conduct themselves in a reasonable manner when attending meetings or any other function in connection with the group. Any breach of the above may result in withdrawal of membership.
Voting rights will be applicable to one per household. The cost of membership will be £1 per annum.
To become a member, you must complete a membership form and return it to the Secretary of the Association.
Any monies raised by or on behalf of the Association shall only be applied in furtherance of the objectives of the Association.
Conduct of Business
The business of the Association shall be considered by a Committee elected at each Annual General Meeting and shall consist of a Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary (the Office Bearers). The Committee will consist of a minimum of three and a maximum of seven members taken from the flatted dwellings, cottages and town houses. Members of the Committee and Office Bearers will be elected by a nominee and seconded, and a vote will be taken if there is more than one candidate.
The election or removal of Office Bearers or Committee Members may only be carried out at an Annual General Meeting of the Association. The Committee may temporarily fill any vacancies arising in the Office Bearer positions from the other Committee Members until the next Annual General Meeting of members.
The Committee shall meet as necessary and not less than 6 times in one year. Committee Members are expected to attend regular meetings to enable the Committee to achieve its objectives.
Annual General Meetings
The Secretary of the Association shall call a Special General Meeting at the request of a majority of the Committee Members or on receipt of a written petition by not less than 20 members of the Association giving their reasons for their request. The Secretary shall give not less than 21 days’ notice of the holding of a Special General Meeting, which shall take place within one month of the receipt of the request or petition.
The quorum for Committee Members shall be one-half of the Committee Members. The quorum for all Annual General Meetings shall be one-third of the membership.

The Mondriaan Residents’ and Owners’ Association supports the principle of equal opportunities and does not discriminate against anyone from membership or representation of the basis of gender, age, disability, race, sexual orientation, religion or political opinion. The Mondriaan Residents’ and Owners’ Association is committed to the promotion and representation of the environment, housing and housing-related interests of residents and owners of the Mondriaan Development.
Accounts and Finance
The Treasurer will manage the bank account; there will be three authorised signatories to the account (of which no persons should be related) and any two can authorise cheques and withdrawals. In the event that a Committee Member has been authorised to buy goods on behalf of the group, if they have used their own money, it will be refunded upon producing receipts. The income of the group should be used solely to the benefit of the group’s objectives as set out in the Constitution.
The Treasurer will present an annual statement of the account at the Annual General Meeting.
Should the group be dissolved, any assets held in the name of the group shall be given to community groups in the area, to be decided at the time of dissolution.
Alterations to the Constitution
Any alterations to the constitution shall receive the assent of not less than two-thirds of the Association members present at the Annual General Meeting or a Special General Meeting. Twenty-one days’ notice in writing will be given for such a meeting to all members and shall include notice of the alterations proposed.
The Mondriaan Residents’ and Owners’ Association amended the Constitution on 7 June 2012 to change the Association’s name (from Mondriaan Residents’ and Tenants’ Association) in order to include non-resident owners as members. The previous version of the Constitution was approved on 9 June 2008.
